Maud Schepers | PhD
Maud Schepers obtained her bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Maastricht. For her thesis, she was involved in an excellence programme (MaRBLe) for bachelor students, writing her thesis on olfaction in Wildtype and GRK3-knockout mice and its relation to schizophrenic-like behaviour and psychosis. This research was conducted at Tallinn University in Estonia, during a semester abroad. After this, she started her research master in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience at Maastricht University. For her graduation project, she moved to Nijmegen and joined a project at the Donders institute focusing on the self-regulation of stress-related large scale brain network balance (through fMRI-based neurofeedback) and its effects on cognition. She graduated in 2021 (cum laude) and continued working at Donders as a research assistant, assisting on various projects.
In 2023, she started her PhD collaborating with Guusje Collin on a Randomized Clinical Trial testing the effects of mindfulness-based early intervention on internalizing problems in youth.
