Hanneke den Ouden | associate professor
Hanneke den Ouden completed her Wellcome Trust PhD in Neuroscience at University College London in 2009. In her dissertation research she investigated the role of prediction errors in associative learning with Karl Friston and Klaas Enno Stephan. Following this, Hanneke worked as a postdoctoral fellow with Roshan Cools (Donders Institute, Nijmegen) and Nathaniel Daw (Department of Psychology, New York University) on the role of serotonin and dopamine in decision-making. In her research, she employs a combination of behavioural genetics, pharmacology, computational modelling and fMRI, and recently (intracranial) EEG. In 2012, she was awarded AXA and NWO-VENI fellowships to investigate the role of fronto-striatal coupling in the interaction of motivational and instrumental control at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Hanneke is currently an associate professor at the Donders Center for Cognition. In 2018, she was rewarded a NWO-VIDI grant to unravell the neurocognitive mechanisms of adaptive decision-making.
